Television Traffic Reports
The Australian Traffic Network is Australia's only supplier of traffic reports to commercial free-to-air television stations in Australia.
Built on the expertise provided from ATN's Radio Traffic Reporting service, ATN launched Television Traffic Reports in 2003, currently we provide live updates on Breakfast Television and early-evening News programmes.
New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria traffic reports are broadcast from our fleet of Robinson R44 RavenII Newscopters, which are fitted with the latest in TV broadcast technology including:
> 16x9 5 axis gyro-stabilized external camera (seen as the ball shape under the helicopter nose)
> Internal 16x9 broadcast camera
> Micro tail mounted lipstick camera
> 2.5GHz Microwave transmitter
Reporting in the helicopters are our own on-air personalities, who deliver the latest in traffic information. This is gathered from sightings from ATN helicopters, as well as from ATN fixed wing aircraft, emergency services, state's road authority and from the local ATN Operations Headquarters.
